The Statement of Acknowledgement (Kaurna – Adelaide):

We acknowledge this land that we meet on today is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country.

We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting/attending from other areas of South Australia/Australia.

Our annual Places of Worship bus trip offers insight into other religions, belief systems, values and ways of life. Today we went to the Phap Hoa Temple, the Al Khalil Mosque, the Gurdwara Guru Nanak Darbar Temple and the Port Adelaide Uniting Church to learn about Buddhism, Islam, Sikhism and Christianity respectively. Of most significance were the similarities and parallels that could be drawn. All referred to the importance of prayer/some type of meditative practice to find peace within our heart and mind in a chaotic world.

We are so grateful to all those who donate to the centre including Largs Bay Rotary who kindly donated the cube shelving so that we could better store all the items. Very much appreciated! Thank you 🌸
