The Statement of Acknowledgement (Kaurna – Adelaide):
We acknowledge this land that we meet on today is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country.
We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.
We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting/attending from other areas of South Australia/Australia.
The Junction Community Centre
Junction Community Centre has for over 30 years provided the local community with a range of activities, workshops and classes.
Junction Community Centre is a place where you can meet, join a class or workshop, throw a party and more!
We welcome all people in the community to take part, have fun and learn from the many activities held at the Junction and supported by our culturally diverse community groups.
Junction Community Centre is a popular venue for people from our multicultural community who attend the various courses, classes, functions and parties. Many classes are in high demand. New activities & courses are regularly added to the program.
On our Facebook page you will find updates and information about our classes and groups. You are able to connect with other people who attend groups or classes at the Junction Community Centre.
Today we launched our BBQ/Outdoor Learning Space for the local community to enjoy at any time. The project was funded by Skills SA, Community Centres SA, Australian Hotels Association and the City of PAE; plus brought together through the great workmanship of ‘Revive & Maintain’, ‘Distinct Electrical’ and our team of volunteers. Many thanks to everyone who attended today - great vibe!

We are going on a bus trip to the Noarlunga Reef and Onkaparinga National Park NEXT WEDNESDAY APRIL 8th from 9.30am-2.30pm. $10/person. Payment must be made by Mon 6th to the Junction Community Centre Inc (BSB 633 000; acct no 181 262 213). BOOKINGS ESSENTIAL by calling 0404-232-110.
We have 2 free SAPOL training sessions open to the local community:
1. ‘Managing Aggressive Individuals’ on Thursday April 9th from 10.30am-12pm at the Junction.
2. ‘Scam Awareness’ on Tuesday May 19th from 12.15-1.30pm at the Junction.
PLUS on Mondays (during term), we have Poetry Therapy (read, listen, enjoy, share yr insight and values) followed by Music Therapy (enjoy didgeridoo and the sharing of cultural information).
The Youth Hub won’t be run on Easter Monday - but WILL be run during the school holidays!

Well, we certainly brought out the ‘inner child’ when we took these guys to St Kilda Adventure Park. We had 90yr olds on the Flying Fox and 80yr olds on the Jungle Jim! The smiles and laughter were just precious 💕

Today’s Youth Hub launch went well. The kids tried a range of activities from Aerial Silks to Hip Hop dancing, drumming, playing didgeridoo, games and craft. We really appreciated the feedback from the parents - so next week we’ll have some breakaway spaces and sensory areas set up - plus a table tennis table! The activities will vary slightly from week to week (we’ll be including cooking and singing). $10/child for 2hrs of unlimited activities. Join us every Monday from 3.30-5.30pm.
