The Statement of Acknowledgement (Kaurna – Adelaide):

We acknowledge this land that we meet on today is the traditional lands for the Kaurna people and that we respect their spiritual relationship with their country.

We also acknowledge the Kaurna people as the custodians of the Adelaide region and that their cultural and heritage beliefs are still as important to the living Kaurna people today.

We also pay respects to the cultural authority of Aboriginal people visiting/attending from other areas of South Australia/Australia.

The Junction Community Centre

Junction Community Centre has for over 30 years provided the local community with a range of activities, workshops and classes. Junction Community Centre is a place where you can meet, join a class or workshop, throw a party and more! We welcome all people in the community to take part, have fun and learn from the many activities held at the Junction and supported by our culturally diverse community groups. Junction Community Centre is a popular venue for people from our multicultural community who attend the various courses, classes, functions and parties. Many classes are in high demand. New activities & courses are regularly added to the program. On our Facebook page you will find updates and information about our classes and groups. You are able to connect with other people who attend groups or classes at the Junction Community Centre.

Joan Lodge was not just a Founding Member of the Junction Community Centre but also the Chairperson for 20years. Her guidance, determination, direction and connection to community ensured the locals’ needs were always the drive for any funding/programs.

Yes! The Adelaide Symphony Orchestra will be performing at the Junction Community Centre on Thursday Feb 5th at 11am. We’ll have 20 musicians using a variety of instruments. The performance will be one hour long. This may be something you’ve experienced before or it may be your first time - please join us! We’d love to see you there.

Congratulations! Tam has now completed her Hairdressing certificate! She will still be offering haircuts each month - starting on Monday Feb 2nd, and then again on March 16th. The appointments are every 30mins from 10am-2pm (last booking at 1.30pm). Please call the Junction on 8341-1334 (after JAN 26th) to book an appointment. Clean hair essential, plus a $10 donation. Neami National in partnership with the Junction Community Centre has a new free support and wellbeing group, Harmony Hub, starting soon.

Harmony Hub is a six-week wellbeing program that offers a supportive and welcoming space to explore mental health, build resilience and connect with others.

Each session offers practical tools and insights to enhance your wellbeing through creative and interactive activities.

Through engaging in the program, you'll develop a stronger sense of self and strengthen community connections.

Topics Include:
- Identifying strengths & values
- Developing self-compassion
- Building resilience
- Engaging in creative practices

Where: Junction Community Centre, 2A May Terrace, Ottoway.
Week 1 starting Wednesday 28 January.
Ends Wednesday 4 March 2026.
1pm to 2.30pm

Eligibility:
- Aged 16-65
- Living in South Australia
- Interested in exploring emotional wellbeing and healthy habits
